Scams come in many shapes and sizes. Many will come in the form of an email.
Let's go over some tell tale signs of a scam email.

We will look at an example of a scam email, and break down any revealing signs it might be a scam.
Most scams will try to instill a sense of urgency to scare you.
It’s important to always stay calm, and don’t click on anything.

In this example, we are sent a bill for a subscription service.
If we are sure we didn’t get charged for this, we can safely ignore it.
If not, there's a few ways to spot the scam. Let’s look at the “From:” line first

Here we can see the email is from “Apple”.
If we look closely at the email address we see “@appletunesid.onmicrosoft.com”
Apple and Microsoft are two rival companies. This is the first red flag.

Many times, scam emails come from out of the US.
This means they will often be poorly translated.
Let’s look at the body of text and try to spot any inconsistencies

Looking at the bill, we can see two different prices.
Big companies like apple do not make mistakes like these.
There are also various grammatical mistakes.

Although they can be intimidating, it’s important to remember that receiving these emails is not dangerous by itself.
Always remember, don’t click on anything you’re unsure of.
